John Green; Probably one of the most shocking names on this list. I mean, who hasn’t read the King of YA Contemporary? I’ll tell you who: this girl! Blame it on the hype, blame it on my unexplainable avoidance of contemporary, blame it on whatever you want. But I have never read a book by John Green.
Rainbow Rowell; I know exactly why I’ve never read anything by Rainbow Rowell: the hype. Her first book to come to my attention was Eleanor & Park, and I was so excited for it! But then some bloggers I really trust started posting their reviews and they weren’t as positive as I would have expected. Since then, I’ve heard great things about Fangirl and Attachments, but it’s too late. The hype train has destroyed my desire to give anything by her a shot, for fear of disappointment.
Neil Gaiman; Confession #1: I don’t know the name of anything that Neil Gaiman has written. Confession #2: I couldn’t even tell you what genre he writes!
